Dr. Nagappa S. Prakash is a board-certified cardiologist with more than three decades of experience caring for patients with cardiovascular disease. He is committed to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based heart care with a strong emphasis on prevention, early diagnosis, and individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
Throughout his career, Dr. Prakash has cared for patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, hypertension, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease. He believes in partnering with patients to improve long-term heart health through education, preventive strategies, and compassionate, relationship-focused care.
Dr. Prakash earned his medical degree from the prestigious Christian Medical College in Vellore, India, before completing his Internal Medicine residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, where he received advanced training in the diagnosis and management of complex cardiovascular disorders.
He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). Dr. Prakash is also an active member of the Maricopa County Medical Society.
Dr. Prakash speaks English, Spanish, Kannada, and Hindi, allowing him to care for patients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
